Isle of Manhattan is by Magnetic Isle who carries the famous bloodlines of the Contact/ Cor De La Bryere on the grand-sire’s side and Calypso I on the grand-dam. His dam, Tamerisk, carries just enough TB to give some elegance
but without the fizz. Manhattan is the perfect dressage shape, short-coupled, uphill and a natural frame. With a trainable nature and excellent temperament, you have the ideal horse for a junior rider or smaller adult to take up through the ranks. Manhattan was professionally broken as a three year old and quietly hacked out until he was four, when he was taken on by professional rider/coach Amanda Hocking. He gained 68% in his first preliminary test, then ran 3rd in the Preliminary Championships at his second start at WPNEC as a loan horse for the New Zealand Young Riders team. He qualified for Victorian State Champíonships
2010 and 2011 with scores in the 70s. Manhattan has been ridden by beginners and FEI riders alike and all have enjoyed their experience. He is winning at preliminary /novice, training elementary and has started flying changes.
